This has been a long time coming up on the net. Awake Again is yet another Xenosaga fancomic by yours truly.

Yes, I know, Kat, why don't you get your head out of fanart land and do something with yourself? Moreover, get your head out of fanart that 90% of your watchers don't understand because they've never played Xenosaga and have no idea what you're talking about?

Well, I can't answer the first question, but I AM going to try and explain some of the Xenosaga stuff for those who don't know it at all. Of course, this will spoilerize everybody for 3/4 of the first game, but I think since most of you have no compunction to play it at all, this won't be too much of a problem.

That being said, SPOILERS AHEAD ANYWAY.

This fancomic revolves around my favorite character in the series, Commander Andrew Cherenkov. As per usual with me, he wasn't one of the main characters in the story, so there's not much out there about him. He was particularly difficult to like at the beginning of the story, but by the time that he died, he turned out to be a character that was deserving of a lot of sympathy.

I'll update this part a little later, but for now, what you need to know in short is that he turned into a monster that the player characters had to fight, and ended up being absorbed into a relic called a Zohar Emulator. In game canon, he sort of just faded away and was ignored for the rest of the story, but I wanted to write an alternate universe thing in which he came back.

At first, I thought it was really childish of me to want something like that in the story to happen, so I hid this away. But now I kinda want some closure on the situation, so here it is. :B

For those who actually know Xenosaga, here's a list of excuses for this fancomic:

Instead of revolving around Margulis and U-TIC like 8pm and Coffee Stupid did, Awake Again centers around Cherenkov breaking off relations with U-TIC after coming back out of the Zohar.

Of course, it sort of hinges on a misconception I had about that a Zohar Emulator could be used to keep someone captive and that it could be broken out of.

Trying to place this comic's starting point between the first and second games is a little fuzzy, but I think that's what I was trying to do. I don't have a very good handle on the technical aspects of this project yet, because it started out as just one of those things I was writing to help myself out.
